In the last couple years there have been about 20 posted to Fleabay, of which 18 were non functional.
The 771A sounds better, but blows up worse.
The B doesn't sound good and still blows up.
OTOH the rack mount Altec biamps are nice.

Just to add to OG's comments, My 9846's were originally the B model with the
771's installed in an auditorium. After the embarrassment of multiple in-service failures,
the 771's got tossed into a dumpster. With great external bi-amp setups available, why
bother with these at all...........
Before Tripath went south I was gonna play with putting their chips in the 771 frame, but alas.
This late in the game best just forget it.
